Metal roofing is a non-combustible, corrosion resistant and fully recyclable product – perfectly suited for today’s needs, lifestyles and environmental priorities. It has outstanding durability and is suitable for extreme weather conditions. It can be installed over existing roofing, eliminating tear off costs, mess and disposal problems.

All our raw material steel coils are supplied directly from Certified mills in Australia, India and Taiwan.

A Gauge is the unit of measured thickness of the metal, the lower the number the thicker the material. Roofman uses several gauges depending on the requirements of the project from 14Ga Steel to 28Ga steel. The Industry norm for Residential Roofing is 26ga. Commercial and Industrial clients prefer 24ga.

Our pre-painted steel is specifically designed with corrosion resistant coatings and baked on paint that resists chipping, pealing and cracking to provide a strong and durable finish for up to 40 years.

Our paint finishes are of high-performance polymers which has exceptional weathering properties. Roofman uses the industry-leading paint coatings Silicone Modified Polyester[SMP], PVDF/PVF2/Kynar Paint Finishes. Over time you might notice a minor change in colour due to the settling of airborne contamination and other factors and can expect the roof to lighten evenly. It is recommended to periodically clean your roof with regular tap water, thereby extending the life of the roof.

Installation time will vary, dependant on the size, nature and complexity of the job. Our teams are experienced and professional and a capable of handling any size job in the shortest possible time. (See our Installation Process)

A metal roof can withstand decades of abuse from extreme weather like high winds, heavy rains, heat and wild fires. Metal roofing has a 120-mph wind rating, depending on the panel system; it can withstand wind gusts up to 120 miles per hour – equal to an F2 tornado. Our Standing Seam Metal roofing systems outperforms other roofing products under high wind conditions.

Cheaper is not always better, lower prices may result in comprising on:

Roofman Ltd only uses AZ150 Gms/sq meter, Galvalume/Aluzinc coated steel roofing panels that are protected by layers of metallic and polymer coatings that are anti-corrosive. However there are many factors that contribute to the metal being compromised such as poor quality fasteners which are uncoated, installation near coastal areas, installers cutting and trimming panels taking off that protective coating and leaving metal fillings on the roof. Our team of installers are professionally trained and use the highest quality fasteners and accessories.

We offer several panel systems that vary in slope requirements. Information regarding minimum slope requirements can be found on the specific technical Data Sheet for each product. Actual minimum slopes may be dependent upon roof geometry, substrate, and physical location of the project.

Span capability of a panel is dependent upon profile, material gauge, width and length of the panel itself. Our representatives will calculate the load variables and will advise on the appropriate span that will provide optimum performance and meet the project requirements.

In Our professional opinion Polyester is Good; Silicone Modified Polyester [SMP] is Better and PVDF/PVF2/KYNAR is the Best Paint Finish. The difference lies in the quantity and quality of the resin and the strength of the chemical bonds with PVDF/Kynar surpassing the others giving a maximum warranty.

However for those who want to understand more:-

Paint finish may be defined as a thin layer of plastic film containing resin, binder and pigments that is applied to the surface of the metal to provide protection and a decorative organic coating.

When people describe paint systems, they are referring to the resin system incorporated in the paint. Resins are the compounds in the paint that form the film and hold the pigment in place. The resin system determines the performance and properties of the paint. A typical gallon of paint is 10% pigment, 20% resin, and 70% solvent. The type of paint comes from the resin system – Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF), Polyester, Acrylic and Polyurethane. Two primary resin systems are involved in refinishing of metals: fluoropolymer based (PVDF, Kynar) or “baked enamel” type, usually composed of acrylic or polyester resins.

Polyesters – Polyesters contains anit-corrosion properties and offer a hard scratch-resistant & flexible finish. However fades gradually when exposed to UV light.

Silicone Modified Polyester [SMP] – Silicone Modified Polyester systems offer an improved color and gloss retention, along with improved resistance to chalking, fading and weathering. Warranty up to 7 years.

PVDF/PVF2/Kynar – PVDF (Fluropolymers): This paint system combines ceramic pigmentation with polyvinylidene fluoride for superior, long- lasting performance. The PVDF system is respected for its durability and resistance to fading, chalking, chemical breakdown and ultimate colour and gloss retention. Warranty up to 15 years, though many outlast their warranties, retaining their colour and strength for much longer.

Roofman Ltd only uses [SMP & PVDF/Kynar Materials]
